Throughout the journey of creating Popeyit, one question kept echoing – what about Olive?
I love you – MeToo was born from the inspiration of Linoy Ashram and her coach Ayelet Zussman, at the moment Linoy claimed her Olympic gold medal. I witnessed their partnership, commitment, and the delicate synergy between them – each enabling the other to realize her fullest potential. Linoy could not have reached the podium without her coach, and Ayelet could not have fulfilled her own calling without Linoy’s devotion.
In the years when I myself was a vulnerable, spineless Olive, friends entered my life like unexpected light. They stood by me, lifting me gently yet firmly, offering themselves without expectation. Each, in her own way, became a Popeyit in my life, helping me transform fragility into strength.
This painting is my homage to all remarkable women, and especially to the extraordinary Olive – for without her, the story of Popeyit would never have emerged. It is a meditation on support, resilience, and the creative power of partnership.
I love you – metoo
